James’ illustrious baking career started from humble beginnings at Sam’s Club in Provo, Utah, where he swiftly earned acclaim as the top-performing bakery professional company-wide for two consecutive years. While managing the Sam’s Club bakery, James, alongside his wife Angie, ventured into the realm of entrepreneurship by establishing a prominent retail bakery and sandwich shop in the Provo area. James demonstrated unwavering dedication, routinely commencing his workday at 1 a.m. to meticulously craft bread and baked goods for the inaugural store, and subsequently, overseeing production at the Sam’s Club location.

As the establishment gained widespread recognition and patronage, both James and Angie transitioned to a full-time commitment to their flourishing retail enterprise, expanding their presence by inaugurating two additional locations. Their enterprising spirit continued to flourish, leading to the inception of Janey Lou’s in 2005, which introduced a selection of their bakery’s delectable treats to local convenience stores.

James boasts a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the esteemed University of Utah. Beyond his professional pursuits, he finds solace and enjoyment in activities such as golfing, hunting, trap shooting, and cherishing quality moments with his beloved wife, Angie, and their cherished family members, Ryan, Jared, and Parker.
